About Us
Our Neuro-Ophthalmologist, Dr. Subei, evaluates all visual diseases arising from systemic disease to the brain and nervous system utilizing the latest technology offered in the 21st century to evaluate both the anatomy and physiology of your Neuro-Visual system. This includes the only AI-powered Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Arizona ( at the time of writing this), Transcranial doppler UltraSonography, Optical Coherence Tomography, Perimetry visual fields, Fundus Photography, as well as physiologic studies including Videonystagmography, Visually Evoked potentials, Electro-Retinography, and Electroencephalography.
Dr. Subei has designed his own MRI protocols that detects most Neuro-Ophthalmic disease entities based on his experience working at many University programs and with many pioneering Neuroradiologists.

Dr. Subei’s medical foundation was established at the University of Illinois at Chicago - College of Medicine. He subsequently completed his residency in Neurology at the University of Arizona - Phoenix, followed by specialized Fellowship training in Neuro-Ophthalmology at Michigan State University. This rigorous academic and clinical lineage provided him with the expertise to tackle complex neurological conditions affecting vision.
Transforming the Standard of Care Upon entering the field, Dr. Subei identified a critical systemic failure in Arizona’s Neuro-Ophthalmology landscape. Patients faced a fragmented system characterized by "cherry-picked" cases, complete lack of management for complex conditions, and debilitating six-month waiting periods!
Refusing to accept this status quo, Dr. Subei established The Brain and Eye Institute. Through his leadership, he transformed a stagnant specialty into a model of accessibility and excellence.
